Howell Volunteer Fire Department

TO REPORT AN EMERGENCY CALL 9-1-1
Unit 1
Type: Pumper
Water Capacity: 1,000 gallons

Unit 1 is one of Howell VFD’s primary fire suppression apparatus. It carries 1,000 gallons of water and is equipped for both initial attack and sustained firefighting operations.

Equipment and hose setup includes:
-
Deck gun
-
Two cross lays
-
Hose reel
-
Preconnected attack line on the passenger side
Unit 2
Type: Tanker
Water Capacity: 3,000 gallons

Unit 2 is Howell VFD’s tanker and plays a critical role in rural firefighting operations. In areas where hydrants are limited or unavailable, having a dependable water supply on wheels can make the difference between a quick knockdown and a prolonged fire.

Unit 2 carries 3,000 gallons of water to the scene and can support sustained fire suppression by supplying other apparatus or participating in a tanker shuttle operation. That capability is especially important in the rural areas we serve, where firefighters may have to bring the water supply with them.
